Good patterns for roller blinds

Many people shy away from installing roller blinds, thinking they look cheap, but this isn’t really the case. Maybe it’s a reaction to the types of roller blinds that were seen many years ago when they first became popular and all sorts of garish fabrics were used.

The truth is that a modern roller blind can be as visually striking as any other window covering. The key is to keep things simple. It is a simple window covering with a simple mechanism and it suits a simple design.

Busy patterns aren’t usually advisable. A roller blind is better suited to a minimalist design. Many people go for plain fabrics for this reason and there are any number of different colours available if you go down this route. However, arguably the best look for a roller blind is a vertically striped pattern.

This doesn’t just mean stripes. They needn’t be evenly spaced vertical lines. Unusual spacings and interesting colour combinations can also be found. Because of the way a roller blind is raised and lowered, a vertical line-based pattern is consistent no matter what you do and this is why it can be so visually appealing. Such a design plays to the strengths of the blind.
