Blinds are used to regulate the amount of light that enters a room. Blinds are a better alternative to curtains as they are less bulky and are easy to maintain.

You have to clean wooden blinds regularly to stop dust accumulating. However you should never use water to clean wooden blinds because it may cause the blind to warp. Instead, you can try cleaning agents such as the ones used for wooden furniture.

Things you will need for the cleaning process include – Micro-fibre cloth, duster, wood cleaner, lint-free cloth.

Dusting the blind –
Purchase a duster that can attract the dust. Otherwise use a micro-fibre cloth instead. These cloth dusters are designed to hold and grab on to dust particles. Feather dusters will not help as they only stir up the dust.

Adjust the blind - Open and close your blinds with their slats pointing in both directions. This will give you access to all areas of the blind to clean and will help you reach the inaccessible areas.

Tips to clean a tough stain – Select a cleaning agent that can clean wood. Wipe the cleaner on the blind removing the stain. Next, use a lint-free cloth to wipe your wooden blind. This will effectively remove any remaining dirt or dust particles.
