Today, blinds are popular window coverings in many homes and offices. Blinds are available in a large variety of colours and designs, hence they can suit almost any interior. As a customer, sometimes it is difficult to choose a blind as there is such a large range on the market. Styles of blinds differ greatly from folding types to space saving varieties. The following information will give you an idea of the types of blinds available and the material used in their construction.

The faux wood variety of blind is one of the most affordable types. This type of blind is manufactured using polyvinyl plastic and then coated to resemble wood. The advantages of this blind are that faux wood is easy to clean, high resistance and durable. This type of blind will not fade as real wood does, since a UV inhibitor has been introduced in the treatment process. Faux wood blinds are considered ideal in areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and even in places where humidity is considered to be high.

Aluminium blinds are light in weight and is considered an ideal option for people with mobility issues. They are good enough for the summer months. Aluminium blinds suit doorways and shallow window bays perfectly. They are not only scratch resistant but are also durable.

Nowadays, blinds are efficient window covering options that are available in a large number of styles.
